arctic island beach clean

i was living & working on an island above the arctic circle. The ocean around the island was Pristine, strikingly blue & green.

Unfortunately, this remote island was not Immune to the plague of marine litter. The gulf stream & northern communities reliant on the ocean for lively hoods generate ocean pollution just like everywhere lese in the world.

Shocked by the amount of trash I found on an evening stroll around our tiny island home, I decided to challenge myself to pick up trash everyday for the month of march.

This experience inspired me to begin this collection of stories and photographs called Green Talk.

Going Green

In the last couple years I have made great strides to minimize my waste. To do so requires significant changes to general consumption and serious renovations to everyday habits, but most of all it requires the will to do so.

Compost 101

When I was little my mom used to separate all our waste: food scraps, glass, plastic, paper recycling & landfill trash. I thought it was such a pain, when at most of my friends homes everything went into one trash can, easy. But we all slowly become our parents, right?
